Root canal treatment gives your own tooth a second chance
If the nerve of a tooth is inflamed or damaged, the tooth does not have to be extracted right away. Dr. Robert Boyd cleans and fills the root canals so that your own tooth is preserved.

Root canal treatment demands precision and patience
“My goal is to provide every patient with optimal, high-quality dental care.”
Treatment step by step
- 1
Diagnosis
An X-ray shows the extent of the inflammation and the shape of the root canals. Together we decide whether treating the tooth makes sense.
- 2
Anaesthesia and opening the tooth
The treatment is done under local anaesthesia. The tooth is isolated with a rubber dam so that bacteria from saliva cannot enter the canal.
- 3
Cleaning the canals
The root canals are cleaned of inflammation and bacteria. For complex canal systems we use the microscope, which helps find even hidden canals.
- 4
Filling the canals and restoring the tooth
The cleaned canals are filled tightly so the inflammation cannot return. During the same treatment the tooth is restored so it can withstand chewing.
- 5
Follow-up
We check with an X-ray that the inflammation in the bone has healed.
The treatment journey in time and money
| Stage | Time | Cost |

The tooth is restored as part of the root canal treatment, no separate visit is needed. The price depends on the number of root canals and the extent of the inflammation. We give you the exact price after diagnosis.
